ZK-News - January 13th-19th, '25

✨ ZK-Newsflash! ✨
Here are the highlights of what happened in the ZK space from January 13th to 19th, 2025.
Showing how important decentralization is to us: Sharing data from our operators. 🚀
Our Proof Verification Layer is powered by 55 operators and currently secured by more than 2.4M restaked ETH (over $8B USD in value!)
Operators play a key role in our ecosystem, and we’re grateful to have them as part of our journey to spread zero-knowledge technology around the world and accelerate Ethereum’s roadmap.
Check the linked tweet for more information, and remember that you can always get the latest stats from the Aligned Explorer.
Verification, decentralized.

Our Proof Verification Layer is powered by 52 operators across 23 countries.
Backed by shared economic security via @EigenLayer restaking, these operators help our protocol verify thousands of proofs per second. pic.twitter.com/zsA91jLlyD
RISC Zero is partnering with Irreducible to integrate Binius into the RISC Zero zkVM ⚡
Binius is a cryptographic proof system that enables fast and cost-effective verification of complex computations.
This collaboration aims to deliver hyper-efficient proof generation for all blockchains.
RISC Zero is about to hit unprecedented speeds.

Fermah has integrated with the ZK Stack. 🚀
ZKsync's ZK Stack is a modular framework for creating interoperable ZK-powered blockchains, and Fermah is a universal proof generation layer. It functions as a marketplace that can generate proofs for any proof system, chain, or VM.
With this integration, Fermah enhances the proving component of the ZK Stack by providing both decentralization and scalability.
Big News!
— Fermah (@fermah_xyz) January 15, 2025
Fermah has integrated with the ZK Stack, the powerhouse behind the Elastic Network.
What does this mean?
Proof generation for ZK Chains is now moving to its next stage of robust decentralization.

LayerZero introduced Quick Merkle Database (QMDB). 🤯
QMDB is a high-performance verifiable database optimized for blockchains.
This work is completely open-source. Congratulations to the LayerZero Labs team for this development!
