ZK-News - 17th-23th June '24

✨ ZK-Newsflash! ✨

Here are the highlights of what happened in the ZK space last week, 17th - 23th June.

Aligned Testnet 3 : Our first EigenLayer AVS opened to external operators.

This week was huge for Aligned.

A very significant milestone in our journey towards mass adoption of ZK proofs on Ethereum.

Great paper from Ingonyama: ICICLE v2. 📒

It offers a framework to implement ZKPs in a very intuitive way.

And it also leverages its polynomial API to abstract away low-level hardware primitives and automate their memory management.

Kakarot has announced its most significant update to date. 🥕

This represents multiple improvements and optimizations to its ZK-EVM rollup, aiming to enhance your overall experience on the Kakarot Testnet.

Risc Zero introduced zkVM 1.0. 🖥️

The world’s first and most performant, production-ready, general-purpose zkVM.

It makes ZK proofs more scalable and practical; a major milestone for blockchain efficiency.

Brevis announced that they are partnering with 0G Labs to bring highly secure cross-chain DA to 0G, powered by ZK proofs. ⛓️

This is important as some solutions rely on centralized bridges, prone to corruption.

A new ZK Podcast episode is out! 📢

It features a conversation between Anna Rose & Tarun Chitra with Simanta Gautam & Liam Eagen from Alpen Labs about ZK on Bitcoin, ZK-bridges and more.

Attention, hackers! ZK Hack reminds us of its event in Montreal, August 9-11. 🧠

Their first event hosted outside of Europe. An excellent space to learn and meet ZK enthusiasts.

Ternoa launched zkEVM+ Testnet, a security and privacy-centric L2 built with Polygon CDK.

This full EVM-equivalent infrastructure brings censorship resistance via integrity proofs to secure digital assets on Ethereum.

Aligned's Proof Aggregation Service: now live on the Ethereum Holesky Testnet

Verifying zero-knowledge proofs on Ethereum is expensive.  With Aggregation Mode, Aligned introduces a scalable solution: compressing multiple proofs into one using recursion, drastically reducing verification costs while maintaining Ethereum-level security. This is our second major product, following the Proof Verification Layer, and is designed to give developers flexible, cost-efficient infrastructure
