Rewarding the loyal ones with a tsunami of $ALIGN tokens

Rewarding the loyal ones with a tsunami of $ALIGN tokens

Backing those who were still there when things turned grey.

The Aligned Foundation will be allocating a significant portion of the total $ALIGN supply to token holders of Mina, EigenLayer, and pioneering Ethereum zk L2s. More specifically, to those that continued to hold, even at the lowest point. No matter how revolutionary a technology or idea is, it wouldn’t exist without its early and enthusiastic supporters. We’ve seen many ups and downs in crypto and zk, but we have found a group of people who, no matter the circumstances, are loyal to ideas and projects because they believe in their long-term future. This check for Alignment is for them, to say thank you for hodling in the darkest moments.

Why are we doing it this way?

The airdrop is distributed among nearly 1,000,000 addresses, ensuring it reaches a wide community. A substantial supply has been made available to the community since day one. We chose each token's all-time low price day to reward those who held and supported projects even during the most challenging times.

These lows occurred at different times for the selected projects, making it nearly impossible to manipulate the airdrop. Furthermore, setting a minimum balance worth 50 USD of each project’s token at their all-time low price (i.e. if project X’s token all-time low was 0.1 USD, the account needed 500 token in its balance, irrespective of other assets) helps prevent sybil attacks or bot exploitation, as it would be impractical to maintain significant liquidity across multiple addresses at such lows. The conditions of the airdrop were only recently disclosed, and there are no scoring metrics that favor airdrop farming. Our goal is to reward the loyal community that has consistently supported ZK and blockchain technologies.

Since the eligibility check was released less than 24 hours ago, announcements by the Aligned Foundation and Aligned have garnered over 1,000,000 views on X.

To be eligible, addresses had to hold at least 50 USD worth of the given project’s token at its all-time lowest price. Coingecko was used as the data provider for this information.

The Aligned foundation has decided to allocate up to a given amount of $ALIGN to each project.

Following the mainnet beta launch of Aligned’s Proof Verification Layer two weeks ago and the culmination of 9 months of development and extensive security audits, The Aligned Foundation unveiled $ALIGN and its tokenomics.

Aligned was only made possible with the support of our community and all the developers, engineers, and researchers building ZK and blockchain technologies. These groups have been allocated $ALIGN in four earlier waves, and the tsunami continues. The first three waves had a total of 95,521 people, and with this latest selection, the number of eligible Aligned totals 986,843 people!

Why did the Aligned Foundation choose these projects?

The Aligned Foundation has chosen these projects because they are pioneers in adopting zk-technology and have built products with strong communities around them. This is a way of thanking not only the core teams but also all the enthusiastic people from their communities who have backed the development and usage of zk as the solution to the scalability of blockchains.

Mina is a succinct blockchain leveraging zk-technology. It is one of the pioneering ZK projects and has a vibrant community. They have been supportive of Aligned and provided us with several interesting use cases for Aligned’s Proof Verification Layer.

Starknet introduced key technologies (including STARKs and the Cairo-vm) that have allowed zk rollups to become the main strategy to help Ethereum scale.

Polygon is one of the leading L2s of Ethereum, supporting several projects such as the Polygon zkEVM, Plonky2/3, Miden-vm, and the AggLayer.

EigenLayer has developed restaking, sparking the creation of Actively Validated Services (AVS) and bringing infinite sum games to Ethereum. Our Proof Verification Layer and Aligned are possible because of their work, and we want to thank their community for all the support.

ZKsync was one of the first zk-evm rollups, and it developed the Boojum proof system and the ZK stack.

Scroll is an L2 compatible with Ethereum at the byte-code level, thanks to the Scroll zkEVM.

Taiko is the first based zk-rollup that also works with multiproving.
