Highlights from Ethproofs Day will be shared in the next tweet of this thread.

Highlights from Ethproofs Day at Devconnect

Justin Drake showcased demo a zkEVM attesting demo on mainnet without using an EL client. Using real-time zkEVM proofs, he visualized them live on the dashboard at ethproofs.org:

Aligned Head of Engineering and Co-Founder Mauro Toscano presented “Security and Diversity in VMs,” followed by LambdaClass's Leandro Ferrigno with “Expanding Ethereum’s Proving Landscape with Ethrex”:

Federico Carrone shared Ethrex's progress: now as fast as Reth with a minimal, easy-to-understand codebase

Ethrex is on track to become the default Ethereum Rust SDK, with multiple partnerships and integrations underway. Performance improvements continue, and Ethrex aims to be much faster.

The Ethereum Foundation has announced Devcon VIII in Mumbai, India, scheduled for Q4 2026

India was chosen for its strong crypto adoption and rapidly growing developer community. The foundation invites the community to help shape the event by submitting Devcon Improvement Proposals (DIPs).

EIP-8079, from Ethereum researchers Luca Donno and Justin Drake, introduces an EXECUTE precompile that exposes Ethereum’s state transition function to the execution layer, enabling native rollups

This Ethereum Improvement Proposal allows rollups to reuse Ethereum’s state transition verification infrastructure, simplify their design, reduce attack surfaces, and align governance. Future upgrades like L1-zkEVM could further optimize them.

Ethereum’s block gas limit reached 60M after over 50% of validators signaled the increase

This change raises L1 data capacity and transaction throughput, doubling the limit over the past year. Vitalik Buterin has suggested a possible 5x increase ahead, and proposals like EIP-9698 explore even larger, gradual expansions.
